Blackwater Castle in Cork, Ireland provides a spectacular setting for any castle wedding. A wedding in autumn however, with the surrounding woodlands ablaze with burnt orange leaves, then you really have something that looks and feels like a fairytale.  This charming and historic venue which overlooks the River Awbeg, has been selected among one of the best venues in Ireland by One Fab Day for many years in a row. 

Babs and Mark were handed over the keys to the castle and given full control over all arrangements, creating a day which was perfectly unique to their style. This meant that the couple could hoist their very own flag made up of the two family’s coat of arms! Having control over what they did at the castle also worked out perfectly on the big day when the sunshine came out and the couple were able to make a last minute decision to move the ceremony outdoors to the terrace.

The couple decorated the castle with found foliage, allowing the autumnal theme to run wild inside the venue. The bride’s creativity didn’t stop with the flowers, Babs knitted her own wedding cake! Now that is something we’ve never seen before!
